Pastor Tom and Mrs. Emily Gibson

I thought Sunday School was just for Children?!?

You're not alone! When Sunday School is mentioned, many people think of little children's classes with lots of coloring activities and story

time. However, that is not the purpose or the vision of the North Liberty Baptist Church Sunday School Program.

Sunday School is our time to CONNECT! We want to get to know you and we want you to have the opportunity to get to know us.

We meet in different groups, based upon age, that have activities together, attend events together, and spend quality time together

with the purpose of CONNECTION.

If you are new to NLBC you will want to get involved in Sunday School as soon as possible.

Master Teacher - Derrick Grant

Beginning at 9:30 each of the Sunday School groups listed below start off with a word of prayer and a time of fellowship. Around 9:45 Derrick Grant gives a 30 minute lesson to all groups 12 and up. Derrick has an energetic personality and a unique gift in presenting God's Word through teaching. Sunday School is the best way to connect with people in your age group at the North Liberty Baptist Church.

Sunday School Groups

Don and Rebecca Hadenfeldt lead the group for those 50 years plus.

The Hadenfeldt's are a great couple filled with joy and humor. This group has a load of laughs and fun while building genuine friendships with others. If you are 50+ you will not regret coming to Sunday School and spending time getting to know these great people as they look forward to getting to know you as well.

Derrick and Danee Grant lead the group for those 19-49 yrs old.

Many great friendships are developed in this group. The Grants are fun to be around and many others in the group make for a great time every time this group gets together whether it is for class time or an outside activity.

Joshua and Diana Barriger lead all the young people ages 12-18. There is a great time of bonding and friendship during the Sunday School time. The youth group also meets every Wednesday evening from 6:30-8:00. Most activities are with the entire youth group, but occasionally there will be an activity only for the young men or the young ladies.

Ms. Kendra leads the young people ages 7-11 years old. Ms. Kendra does a tremendous job in allowing every child to participate and encourages each to grow in their knowledge of Scripture. Illustrative stories and real life applications allow for great understanding of biblical lessons. Special trips to the zoo and pizza parties are just some of the fun benefits of being part of this class.

Mrs. Emily and Mrs. Diana lead the young ones from Newborn to 6 years old. Arts and Crafts allow Bible stories to come to life. Fun songs, silly games, and sometimes a light snack allow for this to be an enjoyable time for every student - and the leaders!
