Pastor Tom Gibson is the founding pastor of North Liberty Baptist Church. The Gibsons moved to Iowa in August of 2009 and the church had its first service in December of 2009. The church began to grow and organized April 11, 2011.

Pastor Tom and Mrs. Emily were married in 2002. God has given them four biological children and two adopted children: Levi, Melanie, Muriel, Malachi, Solomon, and Eli.

Ms. Lecia has been attending the NLBC with her family since 2019 and accepted the position of Secretary at NLBC in 2021. Ms. Lecia previously worked as a secretary for Mercy Hospital. She has four wonderful children: Yahaira, Justin, Steven, and Amelia.
